I’m happy. I enjoy working here. I got here in 1998, I’ve watched all the changes . I like the way the drivers are treated. The DM’s I’ve worked with are great, safety was good too when I had to work with them. It’s like family, you can communicate with them. Kathy Favel is great too! She’s like the driver’s second mama. I tell the new drivers that the key to everything is communicating and everything goes smoothly.

When I started my house had been in foreclosure for over a year. Through the efforts of key employees, including people in dispatch and the night crew, I was able to get home as needed and take care of my courts dates and make enough money to keep my house and now even get ahead. I have a comfort zone and can send extra money home to my wife, purchase building materials to fix my house and take my kids fishing. It comes down to making more money by being a trainer and being able to give back since people helped me when I needed help.

It’s been amazing. Due the economy my home contracting business in Boise, ID came to a screeching halt due to the economy. I decided to check out trucking which I have always been interested in. After training I went straight into Alliance. I attribute my success to the great relationship with my first trainer who I still have a great relationship with today. Everything Stevens told me has been true and I’m proud to work for Steve Aaron. In fact, I am planning on team driving with my wife when our last child goes off to college and after working 10 years we hope to retire.

It’s nice being able to run my own business. When you work for a large company you have to spend a lot of time in meetings and spend time trying to get things done. Running your own business is so much better. You try things out and if they don’t work you move on. I can make calls and line up my loads and I never stop moving. I am a very proactive person. Between me and Juan (DM) we plan ahead of time of what needs to be done. He goes out of his way to help me. Communication is the main thing.

The company has been good to me and they do what they say they are going to do. It’s what you make of us. I grew up with Stevens, when I started they only had three hundred trucks. They’ve care of me. Things have changed over the years for the positive. I wouldn’t have stayed for 20 years if the company wasn’t good to me.

I like the opportunity to take my knowledge of what I’ve learned from Stevens is the opportunity to pass it on to the younger guys. I’ve been training for Stevens for a long time and Stevens gives you the knowledge you need to drive and operate a truck. Stevens always has plenty of work and there’s no reason not to make money here. They’ve treated me great and even bailed me out when I was an owner/operator and needed money to do repairs on my truck. I’m not going anywhere and I wouldn’t have stayed so long if they didn’t treat me right.

We love the opportunity of everything that Stevens has given us. We used to be drivers and after eight years of not driving we wanted to come back after last daughter went to college. After orientation we were talked to about becoming owner operators. After five months we went through Pre-Alliance training. We got a brand new truck that day and we’ve been very satisfied with everything. We have never seen a company require so many classes, but the classes keep us safe and give us the knowledge we need to be successful. We are very satisfied with everything. Since we’ve been with Alliance we have been really appreciated how everyone here has help us meet our goal. Antoine has been great at keeping us rolling. He has learned to keep us going and we average 5K – 6K miles a week. It has helped us keep our kids in college and our son is getting married.

I like it, I get my miles, there are always loads, we have good trucks and I see too many bad trucks on the road. I get along with almost everybody. I just signed my third lease last week and that tells everybody why I’m doing this. I make decent money. I like the lease program. Bonnie helped me out a lot when I started. She never lied to me, She was always fair to me. I’m an old fashioned guy and I like the old fashioned treatment which I get here. I have no problems. I try to help the new guys out.
