April 2019 Driver Award Winners


The executive team of Stevens Transport is proud to announce and honor the driver award winners from April 2019:

Richard Fertig

1st Place Trainer of the Month

Richard joined Stevens in January of 2011 and graduated from Truck Driver Institute in Sanford, FL. Richard enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and was grateful for the instructors that taught him so much about the industry. When we asked Richard what he attributes to his success, he replied: “I have instilled a great work ethic in myself that helps me succeed in my position.” Richard also shared some sound advice for our new drivers: “Learn everything you can. There will be a lot of information you will be given, so make sure to pay attention at all times.” Outside of work, Richard enjoys deep sea diving.

LOUNIE JEANTINOR

Runner Up Trainer of the Month

Lounie joined Stevens in January of 2018 and graduated from Roadmaster in Dallas, TX. Lounie enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and appreciated how dedicated the instructors were to the success of every student. When we asked Lounie what he attributes his success to, he stated: “My cousin is the one who told me about Stevens and had helped me every step of the way. Ever since then, I have never wanted to leave.” Lounie also offered some sound advice for our new drivers: “Don’t try to imitate anyone; just be yourself. Everyone does not learn or drive the same, and that’s okay. Just make sure that you are comfortable behind the wheel.” Outside of work, Lounie enjoys spending time with family and relaxing.

NICK NICHOLS

1st Place Company Driver of the Month

Nick joined Stevens in October of 2018 and graduated from our CDL Academy. Nick enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and is thankful for his trainers who encouraged him when he was going through his first mountain. When we asked Nick what he attributes his success to, he stated: “I take my time and do everything as safe as possible. I always check that everything is correct before I leave on a trip. This helps me avoid the risk of any difficulties happening.” Nick also shared some advice for our new drivers: “Be appreciative of the good days and be mindful that you won’t always have the best days. But, the good ones always outweigh the bad!” Outside of work, Nick enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his family.

LUCCENE JOSEPH

Runner Up Company Driver of the Month

Luccene joined Stevens in March of 2018 and graduated from Tampa Truck Driving School in Tampa, FL. Luccene enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and respected the knowledge he gained about the industry. When we asked Luccene what he attributes his success to, he stated: “I have a strong personal work ethic and I push myself to make every day is better than the last.” Luccene also shared some sound advice for our new drivers: “Have patience every day and make sure to be as safe as possible on the road. Accidents can happen at any time, but by staying safe on the road, you decrease your chances of one happening.” Outside of work, Nick enjoys relaxing and spending time with family.

NNAMDI OKONKWO

1st Place Contractor of the Month

Nnamdi joined Stevens in December of 2018 and graduated from Georgia Driving Academy in Columbus, GA. Nnamdi enjoyed the training he received from Stevens and valued the experiences he gained with his trainer while over the road. When we asked Nnamdi what he credits his success to, he replied: “I hold myself to a high standard for everything. I am dedicated to my job, and always do my best to stay safe on the road.” Nnamdi also shared some sound advice for our new drivers: “Safety is key, so be safe when you are out on the road. Make sure to always get out and look when you are doing anything, especially backing into spaces.” Outside of work, Nnamdi enjoys playing football and spending time with his children.

MIKE HAGAN

Runner-Up Contractor of the Month


Mike joined Stevens in May of 2002 and obtained his CDL in Orlando, FL. Mike enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and gives thanks to the instructors for all of the helpful information that was given to him. When we asked Mike what he credits his success to, he replied: “All of my Driver Managers, including Archie Roberts and Russell Hogue, have been nothing but supportive and encouraging during my time here at Stevens. I would not be as far as I am today without them.” Mike also shared some sound advice for our new drivers: “Don’t take this profession for granted. If you are willing to be dedicated and work hard it will be dedicated to you.” Outside of work, Mike enjoys relaxing and being with his family.

EMEKA MBAEYI

1st Place Owner Operator of the Month

Emeka joined Stevens Transport in July of 2014 and graduated from our CDL Academy. Emeka enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and appreciated all of the knowledge that was shared by everyone. When we asked Emeka what he attributes to his success, he explained: “My former Driver Manager Mike Michalski always encouraged and motivated me. He made sure that everything was taken care of and always gave me great advice.” Emeka also shared some sound advice for our new drivers: “Being a OTR Driver requires much patience and dedication. This profession will teach you something new every day, so learn everything you can.” Outside of work, Emeka enjoys listening to music and relaxing.

JIMMIE & ANN LEWIS

1st Place Team of the Month

Jimmie and Ann Lewis joined Stevens in July of 2010. The team enjoyed the training they received from Stevens and enjoyed then opportunity to show the students and instructors some of their truck driving secrets. When we asked the team what they credit their success to, they replied: “Everyone at Stevens is the reason why we are so successful today. Every person is committed to seeing us succeed, and we see that every day. We believe that teamwork makes the dream work, and we definitely see and feel that at Stevens.” The team also offered advice for our new drivers: “Communication is key. Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you don’t know or understand something, because anyone will be more than happy to answer them.” Outside of work, the team enjoys outdoor activities, do-it-yourself home projects, and spending time with their family.

DYLAN RIVERA

1st Place Grad Driver of the Month

Dylan joined Stevens in January of 2019 and graduated from Tampa Truck Driving School in Tampa, FL. Dylan enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and appreciated how open the instructors were with answering any and all questions that were asked. When we asked Dylan what he credits his success to, he replied: “My beliefs are a big factor to my success. My trainer, Andrew Pace, also set a good pace for our training. Even though he was new to his trainer position at the time, he had a lot of knowledge about the industry and truck driving as a whole. I would not be where I am today without him.” Dylan also shared some sound advice for our new drivers: “Truck driving is a rewarding experience. Be committed to your work and the money will follow close behind.” Outside of work, Dylan enjoys relaxing and spending time with his family.

BRIAN MCWILLIAMS

Runner Up Grad Driver of the Month

Brian joined Stevens in January of 2019 and graduated from Tampa Truck Driving School in Tampa, FL. Brian enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and even recalls a special moment with Yardmaster Tony that helped him see how strong of a support system Stevens has. When we asked Brian what he credits his success to, he replied: “My self-motivation has helped me get to where I am today. I had many people doubting me when I started in this profession and with the help of Stevens, I was able to prove them wrong.” Dylan also shared some sound advice for our new drivers: “Make sure to plan your trips out early. This will help make your drivers smoother.” Outside of work, Brian enjoys fishing and spending time with family and friends.
