And the best of the best drive for Stevens Transport. The executive team of Stevens Transport is proud to announce and honor the driver award winners from August 2019:

Gus Haiek

1st Place Trainer of the Month

image of Gus Haiek Gus joined Stevens in March of 2006 and graduated from US Truck Driver Training School in Sterling Heights, MI. Gus enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and thanks his trainer Marco Perez for his dedication. When we asked Gus what he attributes to his success, he said: “Bonnie Dorsey and Angela [Horowitz] have been very instrumental in my success at Stevens. They have always had my back since day one, and I could not thank them enough for everything they have done for me.” Gus also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Have patience. Good things will come to those who wait.” Outside of work, Gus enjoys watching old western movies, relaxing, and spending time with his family.

Gerald Rhoden

Runner Up Trainer of the Month

image of Gerald-Rhoden Gerald joined Stevens in November of 1998 and graduated from Truck Driving School of America in Denver, CO. Gerald enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and commended the instructors for all of the knowledge they shared with him. When we asked Gerald what he attributes to his success, he explained: “Everyone at Stevens has played a vital role in my success. I would not be where I am today without them, and I am thankful for them every day.” Gerald also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Work hard and work smart every day. You have a big support system rooting you on, so keep pushing yourself every day and never give up!” Outside of work, Gerald enjoys racing cars, restoring vintage cars, and visiting his family in Jamaica.

Clayton Davis

1st Place Company Driver of the Month

image of Clayton DavisClayton joined Stevens in June of 2016 and graduated with his CDL from Careers World Wide in Keenesburg, CO. Clayton enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and was impressed with the methods used to help him become a professional. When we asked Clayton what he attributes to his success, he responded: “I always push myself to do the very best I can every day. My Driver Manager, Kenny [Harwell] is also a great support system while I am on the road.” Clayton also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Take it easy and slow. Slow and steady always wins the race!” Outside of work, Clayton enjoys taking road trips, hiking different trails, and pursuing outdoor activities.

Daniel Prescott

Runner Up Company Driver of the Month

Image of Daniel PrescottDaniel joined Stevens in June of 2014 and graduated from US Truck Driver Training School in Sterling Heights, MI. Daniel enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and cherished his over-the-road training with his trainer Sergio Zaragoza. When we asked Daniel what he attributes to his success, he explained: “My Driver Manager, Red Sanderson, is my number one fan while I’m out on the road. He, along with everyone at Stevens, really cares about their drivers, and I am super appreciative of that.” Daniel also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Listen to the company policies, because they are there to help you succeed. Also, always drive ahead and look forward to your ultimate goal.” Outside of work, Daniel enjoys spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, and relaxing.

Goran Blagojevic

1st Place Contractor of the Month

Image of Goran BlagojevicGoran joined Stevens in February of 2019 and from Careers World Wide in Keenesburg, CO. Goran enjoyed the training he received from Stevens and appreciated all of the knowledge provided by his trainers. When we asked Goran what he attributes to his success, he replied: “My family is my biggest support system. I would not be able to truly enjoy my career without their support. And, I cannot forget about my Driver Manager, DeAnthony [Montgomery]! He is big help while I’m out on the road.” Goran also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Always have patience, because good things will come to those who wait. Also, always be adaptable, because everything is constantly changing.” Outside of work, Goran enjoys playing the piano and guitar, painting, and pursuing outdoor activities.

Ali Aziz

Runner-Up Contractor of the Month

Image of Ali AzizAli joined Stevens in December of 2018 after completing CDL training at Tampa Truck Driving School in Tampa, FL. Ali enjoyed the training he received from Stevens and cherished his over-the-road training experience with his second trainer. When we asked Ali what he attributes to his success, he explained: “My best friend, who is also a Contractor, pushed me to join the Contractor Division, so I owe all of my success to him. He offers advice whenever I need it, which is very helpful.” Ali also passed along some sound advice to our new drivers: “Always follow all company policies and procedures. They will not only protect you in every situation but will also help you succeed.” Outside of work, Ali enjoys going to the movies, shopping, and spending time with his family and friends.

Corey & LaJasmine Cox

1st Place Owner Operator

Image of LaJasmine & Corey CoxCorey and Jasmine joined Stevens in November of 2014 and both graduated from Lonestar College’s CDL training course in Houston, TX. The team enjoyed the training they received from Stevens and appreciated all of the knowledge given to them from the instructors and their trainers. When we asked the team what they attribute to their success, Jasmine explained: “We credit everyone at Stevens, especially our Driver Manager Chase [Wallace], for everything they do for us every day. They keep us constantly rolling, and we are forever grateful.” Corey also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Give everything time and have patience. Also, be open to new information because you will not know everything right away.” Outside of work, the team enjoys fishing, working out, and spending time with their family.

Hector Rodriguez & Cesar Melendez Cotto

1st Place Team of the Month

Image of Hector Rodriguez & Cesar Melendez Cotto Hector and Cesar joined Stevens in December of 2018 and both graduated from Tampa Truck Driving School in Tampa, FL. The team enjoyed the training they received at Stevens and later decided to become a team. When we asked the two what they attribute to their success, they replied: “We each push each other to complete each day better than the last. Chase [Wallace], our Driver Manager, also works hard to get us everything we ask, so having that support from him is great.” The team also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Don’t shortcut your goals. Complete your goals and continuously make new ones.” Outside of work, the two enjoy spending time at the beach and with their family and friends.

Phillip Dennison

1st Place Grad Driver of the Month

image of Phillip DennisonPhillip joined Stevens in May of 2019 after completing CDL training at Tampa Truck Driving School in Tampa, FL. Phillip enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and expressed his gratitude to his trainer Scott for showing him the ropes to the industry. When we asked Phillip what he attributes to his success, he responded: “First, I credit Scott because he is the reason why I am the driver I am today. Second, I thank my Driver Manager, James [Curley], because he works hard to make sure I am successful on the road. Last but not least, I thank the night dispatch team for their hard work to ensure we stay safe during the night hours.” Phillip also passed along some sound advice for those thinking about making a career change to this industry: “Make sure that this is something you want to pursue. If you give 100%, then this job will give you 100%.” Outside of work, Phillip enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time with his German Shepard Bear.

Andrew Young

Runner Up Grad Driver of the Month

Image of Andrew YoungAndrew joined Stevens in June of 2019 and graduated from Diesel Driving Academy in West Monroe, LA. Andrew enjoyed the training he received from Stevens and felt well prepared when he received the keys to his solo truck. When we asked Andrew what he attributes to his success, he explained: “My beliefs are a big factor to my success. I also have the mindset to complete every delivery the best that I can and that helps me be successful.” Andrew also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Always keep pushing, be dedicated, and grow from your mistakes. Doing this will help keep you focused toward your goal, and will ultimately make you successful in the end.” Outside of work, Andrew enjoys relaxing, and spending time with his family and friends.
