Diane Porter Drives Team With Her Husband
Diane Porter always dreamed of joining the transportation industry with her husband. When the opportunity arose, Diane quickly jumped on the opportunity and quickly fell in love with her profession.
Diane obtained her Class A CDL from Careers World Wide in Keenesburg, CO, and enjoyed every second of her CDL training experience. “From my very first class, I knew that I was in good hands. I was very fortunate to have a very family-oriented group, ranging from the staff, to the instructors, to my classmates; they were always cheering me on.”
Once she graduated from CWW, Diane headed to Dallas, TX to complete orientation and over-the-road training with her trainer. “I not only chose Stevens Transport because my husband was already here, but the state-of-art-equipment that Stevens offers their drivers is outstanding! I also wanted to choose a company that had the same family atmosphere that I experienced when I was in training, and Stevens definitely did not disappoint!”
After completing her training, Diane joined her husband on his truck and the team has been an unstoppable duo since. “Our success is due largely in part to Angela [Horowitz]. She has been our biggest fan since we have been at Stevens. Next, Tiffany Matthews, Dan Dietter, Alex Rice, and our Driver Manager Johnny Cox have always made sure to keep us out on the road delivering loads. Every one of these individuals is like family to us and I cannot express how thankful I am for all of them.”
Director of Operations Dan Dietter also spoke highly of Diane. “Diane currently drives over 6,000 miles per week – the highest miles in the top lane of the company. She is very focused on completing the goals she sets for herself and her husband, while also being very dedicated to her children and grandchildren. Stevens is very fortunate to have such a strong and resilient woman on their driver force.”
Speaking of being out on the road, Diane also shared some of her favorite spots that she has been able to drive through thanks to Stevens. “South Dakota is very beautiful. We also travel through New Mexico every week, and love to see that scenery with the sunsets; it is breathtakingly beautiful.”
Diane also wanted to pass along some advice for women who are thinking about joining the industry. “Women are constantly proving that they are capable of being successful in this industry. If I can do it, you will be able to as well!”
When Diane is enjoying her home time, you can find her sitting on her patio listening to music, or spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Congratulations on all of your success Diane and we cannot wait to see what else you will accomplish at Stevens!
