Richard Avinger Succeeds In Contractor Division
Rebooted His Career With CDL Training In Tampa
Richard Avinger joined the transportation industry eighteen years ago, but unforeseen circumstances pushed him to pursue other career opportunities. Years later, after missing the open road and the independence that his truck driving profession offered, Richard made the decision to re-join the industry. When searching for a company to explore this new adventure with, Richard came across Stevens Transport online advertisement and, within one week, was on his way to receive training!
Attending CDL School In Tampa
Richard attended Tampa Truck Driving School in Tampa, FL and graduated with his CDL in August of 2019. Richard enjoyed the training that he received at Tampa Truck Driving School and made some lasting memories with his classmates. After he completed training, Richard traveled to Stevens’ headquarters in Dallas, TX and attended orientation and embarked on his 240-hour over-the-road training.
Richard explained that he was paired with a trainer who was also an Independent Contractor, and he received great insight for the Contractor Division. “I was heavily involved in the operation of independent business before I re-joined the industry; I started my first business at 10 years old! Hearing the great opportunities that the Contractor Division offered from my trainer and Contractor Recruiter Will [Byrd], I was excited to return to headquarters and experience these opportunities for myself.”
Shifting Gears Into Contractor Division
After expressing interest, Richard was quickly scheduled to attend the Business Classes offered by our Contractor Division. “Before entering the class, I did a complete brain dump of every business tactic that I had ever learned, and was very eager and had a willingness to learn as much as possible. These classes were so informative that I left with over 10 pages of notes, and even heard things that I’ve never heard before that would help me be successful and profitable.”
Richard is very enthusiastic to begin this new journey with the Contractor Division, and credits Will Byrd for reigniting the entrepreneur spirit in him. “Without Will, I would not have pursued this opportunity, and ultimately change my life. I look forward to the experiences that await me, and hope to be prosperous enough to purchase my wife the home of her dreams!”
