And the best of the best drive for Stevens Transport. The executive team of Stevens Transport is proud to announce and honor the driver award winners from the month of September 2019:

Casey Mumford

1st Place Trainer of the Month

image of Corey Mumford Casey joined Stevens in April of 2018 and graduated from American Truck Training in Oklahoma City, OK. Casey the training he received from both American Truck Training and Stevens, and even takes his truck back to his school to show off to other students! When we asked Casey what he attributes to his success, he said: “My two trainers, Damian and Scott, have been very instrumental in my success at Stevens. I still call them every day and ask them questions. They are super helpful, and I am very thankful for them every day.” Casey also shared some sound advice for our new drivers: “There will be days that are not the best. Take those days and always try to turn them around to a positive one.” Outside of work, Casey enjoys spending time with his family and relaxing.

William Lester

Runner Up Trainer of the Month

image of William Lester William joined Stevens in June of 2017 and graduated from Lonestar College in Houston, TX. William enjoyed the training from both Lonestar and Stevens and appreciated his over-the-road training experience with his trainer. When we asked William what he attributes to his success, he explained: “I would not be where I am today in my career without the constant support of my wife and my family. Knowing they are cheering me on at home every day helps me deliver every load successfully.” William also shared his number one piece of advice for his trainees: “I recommend every solo driver to get a pet on their truck. My dog has been my companion while I have been on the road and has helped me so much!” Outside of work, William enjoys doing anything and everything he can to help fulfill his role as a husband and father.

Craig Jacobson

1st Place Company Driver of the Month

image of Craig JacobsonCraig joined Stevens in May of 2017 and graduated from Stevens Driving Academy in Dallas, TX. Craig enjoyed the training both at Stevens and Stevens Driving Academy and believed all of the knowledge that he gained from school fully prepared him for his over-the-road training with his trainer. When we asked Craig what he attributes to his success, he replied: “My previous career in sound and lighting has made trip planning and making my on-time deliveries easier. My Driver Manager also keeps me rolling at all times, so that also helps a lot.” Craig also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Never move your truck unless you are fully prepared and you have completed all of your pre and post-trip inspections. Doing this will always help you succeed.” Outside of work, Craig enjoys visiting various truck stops, enjoying nature walks, and relaxing.

Jean Philistin

Runner Up Company Driver of the Month

image of Jean PhilistinJean joined Stevens in October of 2018 and graduated from Tampa Truck Driving School in Tampa, FL. Jean enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and appreciated all of the knowledge that was passed down from the instructors at both Stevens and Tampa Truck Driving School. When we asked Jean what he attributes to his success, he said: “My trainer, Omar Lewis, taught me everything that I needed to become the successful driver I am today. I’m thankful for him every day.” Jean also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Listen to all of the teachings that you will be learning in all of your classes. Everyone really wants to see you succeed. Also, always pay attention to all of your surroundings on the road because everything is constantly changing.” During his home time, Jean enjoys spending time with his friends and girlfriend and relaxing.

Spario Banks

1st Place Contractor of the Month

image of Spario BanksSpario joined Stevens in January of 2019 and graduated from the Truck Driver Institute in Milton, FL. Spario enjoyed the training he received at both Stevens and the Truck Driver Institute and recalls the hills he trained on and how much they have helped him today. When we asked Spario what he attributes to his success, he replied: “My trainer, Miller Jean, helped shape me into the driver that I am today. I also thank Stevens for giving me the opportunity to explore this new career path.” Spario also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Don’t give up! If you stick with it, you will be successful!” Outside of work, Spario enjoys fishing, hunting, and relaxing.

Lawrence McLaren

Runner-Up Contractor of the Month

image of Lawrence McLarenLawrence joined Stevens in October of 2012 and graduated from the Truck Driver Institute in Orlando, FL. Lawrence enjoyed the training he received at both TDI and Stevens and recalled the great memories he made during his over the road training. When we asked Lawrence what he attributes to his success, he explained: “The staff at Stevens is always very helpful and always works hard to deliver on every request that I have. It’s also great to know that everyone at Stevens wants to see me succeed!” Lawrence also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Don’t get distracted. Stay focused on your goals and do not get discouraged. You will always be successful at Stevens.” Outside of work, Lawrence enjoys going to the movies, relaxing at the beach, and spending time with his family at different theme parks.

Herbert Floyd

1st Place Owner Operator

image of Herbert FloydHerbert joined Stevens in August of 2001 and graduated from Franklin Truck Driving College in Slidell, LA. Herbert enjoyed the training he received at both Stevens and Franklin Truck Driving College and appreciated all of the knowledge passed down to him from both his instructors and trainer. When we asked Lawrence what he attributes to his success, he responded: “My strong work ethic has helped me achieve all of my goals at Stevens. I always try to make the best decision while I’m out on the road to make sure I am successful.” Herbert also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Always stay true to yourself. Make sure to always drive the truck for you.” Outside of work, Herbert enjoys traveling around the world and relaxing.

Tommy Hill and Susan Dittman

1st Place Team of the Month

image of Tommy Hill & Susan Dittman Tommy and Susan joined Stevens in March of 2018 and both graduated from the Truck Driver Institute in Saucier, MS. The team enjoyed the training at both Stevens and the Truck Driver Institute and respected the priority on safety that Stevens has. When we asked the team what they attribute to their success, they replied: “We work very well as a team and work hard to make sure we are successful. Our Driver Manager also makes sure to keep us rolling, which is very nice.” The team also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Make sure you manage your time well and always do your pre-trip inspection on your truck and trailer. You also need to keep your drive and hustle up every day to do well.” Outside of work, the team enjoys exploring new places, try new restaurants, and relaxing.

Brandon Watkins

1st Place Grad Driver of the Month

image of Brandon WatkinsBrandon joined Stevens in June of 2019 and graduated from Tampa Truck Driving School in Tampa FL. Brandon enjoyed the training he received at both Stevens and Tampa Truck Driving School and was very thankful for all of the knowledge that was passed along to him from his instructors and trainers. When we asked Brandon what he attributed to his success, he said: “My trainer, Frank Gaines, is the reason I am the successful truck driver I am today. He taught me everything that I needed to know, and even inspired me to become a great driver like himself.” Brandon also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Make the time that you are out the road the best time of your life. You will have fun, and you will have great success.” Outside of work, Brandon enjoys spending time with his five children and relaxing.

Jermaine Bouler

Runner Up Grad Driver of the Month

image of Jermaine BoulerJermaine joined Stevens in June of 2019 and graduated from Tampa Truck Driving School in Tampa, FL. Jermaine enjoyed the training he received at both Stevens and Tampa Truck Driving School and admired the challenges that were presented to him. When we asked Jermaine what he attributes to his success, he responded: “My trainer, Kendrick King, was a wealth of knowledge and helped me become the great driver I am today. I am very thankful for him and will continue to make him proud every day!” Jermaine also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Enjoy the time you are out on the road. Also, respect the roads and fellow vehicles on the road.” Outside of work, Jermaine enjoys producing music and spending time with his family.
