Gerhard Hardt received his 3 million mile award after driving for Stevens for almost 20 years.
In those 20 years, Gerhard has trained over 200 student drivers. He has always enjoyed being with people and is no stranger to training. From Germany, Gerhard spent 15 years at Fort Bliss training German officers.
After leaving the German Air Force, Gerhard owned his own business for 19 years. He felt like he needed a break and decided to drive a truck for a year. Because he enjoyed Stevens’ training program so much, he ended up staying with Stevens. He felt like he got the miles he wanted and always had advancement opportunities.
Gerhard places a high value on training and has a goal to make every driver he trains better than himself. This is a lofty goal since he has had no traffic violations in his 20-year career as a driver. He advises every student to get good rest, be responsible, drive relaxed, be safe, and do honor to the trucking industry.
Gerhard has seen more of America than most Americans. And since he turns 69 this year, he plans on retiring soon. His wife already has several months of honey-do’s planned for him.
