Opera Singer Becomes Truck Driver
Matthew Lord, a classically-trained opera singer, found a new beginning in trucking after the entertainment industry slowed down. Impressed by Stevens’ presentation and equipment, he obtained his CDL from Franklin Truck Driving School. Despite resuming his opera career, Matthew created a successful show called the Three Redneck Tenors and toured the country for 18 years.
Royford Burris Named Highway Angel
Stevens Transport’s Royford Burris was named “Highway Angel of the Year” by the Truckload Carriers Association for his heroic actions at a fiery crash scene. Burris was first on the scene and helped save a child trapped in a vehicle, despite multiple fatalities. See his firsthand account of the scene in the video.

Reneal Young fulfilled his lifelong dream by purchasing his first truck. Growing up in Compton, CA, he aspired to build his business and own a fleet of trucks. His grandfather, a truck driver, motivated Reneal to pursue this profession. He achieved his CDL from the Stevens Driving Academy and embarked on his journey.
