Truck Driver Expands His Role With Stevens

Brian Hibler: From Student to Owner/Operator

Brian Hibler found himself at a crossroad when he needed to make the decision: stay in his current occupation, or choose a new career path. It was then that Brian decided that the opportunities presented to truck drivers were too good to pass up. He quickly enrolled at Roadmaster Trucking School and went on to obtain his Commercial Driver License.

“I can only speak highly of my training from Roadmaster,” Brian said. “They taught me everything I needed to know and more. I felt very prepared to begin my career as a truck driver.”

Brain graduated with his CDL in October of 2017 and knew exactly where he wanted to start his trucking career. “The Stevens recruiter was amazing, and at the conclusion of his presentation, I knew instantly that I wanted to drive for Stevens. I was also impressed with the state-of-the-art equipment that Stevens offers its drivers. Even though Stevens was far away from my home, I knew that at Stevens I could find my second home.”

Brian attended orientation at Stevens later that month and was placed with a trainer after he completed orientation. Brian stated that his 240-hour over-the-road training was great, and appreciated all of the knowledge passed on by his trainer.

Then, in February of 2018, with the support of his family and from everyone at Stevens, Brian took the next step in his trucking career and joined the Contractor Division. Brian recalls being nervous to sign his lease but knew with all of the support around him, he would be able to succeed.

“The opportunity presented itself, and I wanted to see what I could achieve with this new opportunity,” Brian said. “I knew that if I didn’t sign my lease then, I never would have. I’m so glad I did because it was possibly the best decision I have ever made.”

Since then, Brain has had great success with his trucking career at Stevens. He was not only named the Runner-Up Contractor Driver of the month in May of 2018, but he also purchased his first truck in July of 2019.

“I decided to purchase my truck when I completed my lease because it was not only a new opportunity for me, but it would also offer me more experience in this industry,” Brian said. “I plan to buy more trucks in the future and hopefully have my own fleet under Stevens. I want to offer the same opportunity to others that Stevens has offered to me.”

Brian credits his success to his trainer and his driver manager. “My trainer taught me everything that I needed to know to be a truck driver, and he even inspired me to become a trainer myself. My Driver Manager, Garrett Baeder, always gives me added motivation I need to complete my job every day. He shares tips with me and is my best friend while I’m out on the road.”

Garrett also spoke high praise of Brian. “Brian is one of the hardest working truck drivers on my fleet. He is dedicated to this industry, and is always willing to help in any way he can, whether it’s helping his students, or helping out another driver. He is a valuable asset to Stevens, and I can’t wait to see what he accomplishes in the future.”

Congratulations on all of your success Brian and all of us at Stevens can’t wait to see what you will accomplish next!
