And the best of the best drive for Stevens Transport. The executive team of Stevens Transport is proud to announce and honor the driver award winners from the month of April 2020:

Liann Reyes-Collins

1st Place Trainer of the Month

Image of driver award winner Reyes-ColinsLiann joined Stevens in February of 2019 and graduated with her CDL from Roadmaster in San Antonio, TX. Liann enjoyed the training that she received at both Roadmaster and Stevens, and recalled the great amount of knowledge that she received from her instructors and trainers. When we asked Liann what she attributes to her success, she answered: “My Driver Manager, Johnny Cox, has been my number one supporter from day one. Billy Lemanski has also been a great support system throughout my time at Stevens.” Liann also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Always remember that practice makes perfect. You must also have the drive to attain success every day.” Outside of work, Liann enjoys boating on the water, fishing, and swimming with sharks.

Norbert Kolozsvari

Runner Up Trainer of the Month

image of award winner Stevens Transport's Kolozsvari Norbert joined Stevens in September of 2015 and graduated with his CDL from the Careers World Wide CDL training program in Keenesburg, CO. Norbert enjoyed the training he received from both Careers World Wide and Stevens, and was excited to excel his career at such a prestigious carrier. When we asked Norbert what he attributes to his success, he stated: “My strong work ethic and the constant drive to improve push me to make every day better than the last. My students and my family are also a big source of inspiration for me and I’m constantly learning ways to improve from them.” Norbert also passed along some sound advice for new drivers: “Always look for ways to improve. There is always something new to learn, so don’t be afraid to ask questions!” Outside of work, Norbert enjoys pursuing outdoor activities and spending time with his family.

Emmanuel Martinez Collado

1st Place Company Driver of the Month

image of driver award winner ColladoEmmanuel joined Stevens in June of 2019 after completing CDL training at  Tampa Truck Driving School in Tampa, FL. Emmanuel enjoyed the training that he received from Tampa Truck Driving School and Stevens, and was thankful for all of the helpful information he received from his instructors. When we asked Emmanuel what he attributes to his success, he explained: “I would not be the driver I am today if it was not for my trainer, Cameron Valentinsantos. He taught me how to make lasting connections with the Operations team at Stevens, and our constant collaboration has helped become very successful!” Emmanuel also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Nothing in this industry comes easy. You must be committed to this position, and push yourself to do your best every day!” Outside of work, Emmanuel enjoys visiting different theme parks and watching baseball.

Robert Mitchell

Runner Up Company Driver of the Month

image of Robert Mitchell, driver award winnerRobert joined Stevens in April of 2012 and graduated with his CDL from Stevens Driving Academy in Dallas, TX. Robert enjoyed the training that he received from Tampa Truck Driving School and Stevens, and recalled the many memorable moments he made during his over-the-road training. When we asked Robert what he attributes to his success, he explained: “My Driver Manager, Diana Johnson, has been a wealth of knowledge while I’m out on the road. She is able to assist me with any question or concern that I have, and appreciate her greatly!” Robert also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Before you make the decision to join the industry, make sure that you establish your goals and plans that you want to accomplish. Once you create those, you must make it your mission to surpass them every day!” Outside of work, Robert enjoys playing the guitar, reading, and watching movies.

Jermaine Acy

1st Place Contractor of the Month

image of Jermaine Acy, Stevens driver award winnerJermaine joined Stevens in June of 2013 and graduated with his CDL from Lonestar Community College in Houston, TX. Jermaine enjoyed the training that he received at both Lonestar Community College and Stevens, and felt well-prepared to continue his new journey at a reputable company. When we asked Jermaine what he attributes to his success, he said: “My children are my number one source of motivation. I know that they are cheering me on every day while I’m on the road, and I work hard to ensure that I am able to provide the best life that I can for them.” Jermaine also passed along some sound advice for our news drivers: “Success starts with you. Once you are able to give this profession your all, you will soon start to see success!” Outside of work, Jermaine enjoys relaxing, fishing, and waiting for the next time he is able to get inside his truck.

Roy Gatabaki

Runner-Up Contractor of the Month

image of driver winner GatabakiRoy joined Stevens in June of 2008 and graduated with his CDL from Houston Community College in Houston, TX. Roy enjoyed the training he received from both Houston Community College and Stevens, and was forever grateful for the great memories that he created with his classmates and instructors. When we asked Roy what he attributes to his success, he stated: “I would not be the driver I am today if it were not for everyone in the Operations department. The planners, Driver Managers, Business Counselors, and everyone in between has always been there to assist me in any way possible, and are the reason why I am able to be so successful!” Roy also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “You will have days that are not as great as others. But as long as you focus and stick with it, those days will be transformed into your best days!” Outside of work, Roy enjoys working out, learning about the stock market, and spending time in the ocean.

Nicholas Nubin

1st Place Owner Operator

image of driver award winner Nicolas NubinNicolas joined Stevens in February of 2011 and graduated from Lonestar College’s CDL training program in Houston, TX. Nicolas enjoyed the training that he received at Stevens and appreciated all of the knowledge that was shared by all of the instructors. When we asked Nicolas what he attributes to his success, he replied: “My first trainer, Jose Anaya, taught me how to succeed in this industry. I still put everything he taught me to use today with both my students and other drivers I encounter.” Nicolas also shared some sound advice for our new drivers: “Consistency is key. Take a chance on this industry if it’s something that you really want to do.” Outside of work, Nicolas enjoys working out, playing video games, and spending time with his wife and two children.

Veronica Martinez & Roger Murphy

1st Place Team of the Month

images of Stevens team drivers Martinez & Murphy Veronica joined Stevens in January of 2015 and graduated with her CDL from Georgia Driving Academy in Columbus, GA. Roger followed suit in October of 2015, and graduated with his CDL from Stevens Driving Academy in Dallas, TX. The team enjoyed the training they received, and made the decision to team up in August of 2017. When we asked the team what they attribute to their success, Roger said: “This profession is all about teamwork. Not only do I have the best partner in the fleet, but everyone in Operations has helped us get to where we are today, and we are thankful for each and every single person there!” Veronica also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “If you’re wanting to have a very rewarding career as a professional driver, start with Stevens! They are a great stepping stone into the industry, and will set you up or great success!” Outside of work, the team enjoys spending time at the beach and spending time with their families.

Daniel J. O’Donnell

1st Place Grad Driver of the Month

image of driver O'Donnell, driver award winnerDaniel joined Stevens in February of this year and graduated with his Class A CDL after completing truck driver training at Stevens Driving Academy in Dallas, TX. Daniel enjoyed the training he received from Stevens, and valued all of the support that he received from all of the instructors, especially Eric Miller. When we asked Daniel what he attributes to his success, he responded: “My determination and hard work ethic are the reasons for my success today. I have constructed a strict schedule that I follow daily that consist of proper trip planning steps and make sure that I stop at the Opti-stops whenever possible.” Daniel also passed along some sound advice to our new drivers: “Be ready to work because this profession requires an immense amount of hard work Also, make sure to take your time, because slow and steady wins the race!” Outside of work, Daniel enjoys spending time with his family and swimming.

Hugo Cervantes

Runner Up Grad Driver of the Month

Image of Hugo Cervantes, Stevens Transport award winning driver Hugo joined Stevens in February of this year and graduated with his CDL from Stevens Driving Academy in Dallas, TX. Hugo enjoyed the training he received at Stevens and was appreciative of the patience that his instructors and trainer possessed. When we asked Hugo what he attributes to his success, he replied: “I consistently strive to make each day better than the last. I also make it a point to surpass my goals with every load that I take.” Hugo also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “The key to a successful career as a professional driver is to be patient. Also, make sure to learn at least one thing from every trip that you take.” Outside of work, Hugo enjoys fishing on his boat and working out.

Philisen Bowers

Runner Up Grad Driver of the Month

Philisen enjoyed the training that he received at Stevens, and felt well prepared to begin his new profession. When we asked Philisen what he attributes to his success, he responded: “My Driver Manager, Wendy Jones, has been a great resource during my time on the Dedicated fleet. She constantly keeps me rolling, and I am very grateful to have her on my team!” Philisen also passed along some sound advice for our new drivers: “Keep calm in all situations. Also, make sure to plan for every situation, because you never know what you will encounter out here.” Outside of work, Philisen enjoys spending time with his family.

David Roehm-Gougeon

Runner Up Grad Driver of the Month

image of driver award winner David Roehm-Gougeon David joined Stevens in May of 2016 and graduated with his CDL from Careers World Wide in Keenesburg, CO. David enjoyed the training he received from both Careers World Wide and Stevens, and was excited to continue his family’s legacy in the industry! When we asked David what he attributes to his success, he answered: “My success is due in large part to the many Driver Managers and planners that I’ve had the opportunity to work with. They have helped me in many ways, and I would not be where I am today without their support.” David also passed along some sound advice to our new drivers: “This profession is a complete lifestyle change. Make sure that you do your research, and ask as many questions as you can.” Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his family.
